Halite is a rare formation of salt, also often called rock salt or crystalized salt. It needs absolute perfect conditions to form and will dissolve if it comes in contact with water, making it a rare find!

The salt forms in layered, cubic formations. It can range from white to bright pink. This specimen is white in color and are from Inyo County, California.

It is 13.13 ounces (372 grams), 5.45 inches at the widest part, 2.14 inches at the thickest portion of the trona.
